Designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery as part of pre-event, post-event for both men and women. Sports massage is aimed at keeping you on track with your training plan, tackling those niggles as they arise. When performed after intense training or competition as part of recovery it restores muscle performance quicker, helps clear lactic acid build up and restores muscle length.
Regular sessions aid injury prevention, catching the problem before injury by keeping muscles lengthened and performing efficiently, great for helping with soft tissue aches and stiffness.
It is not a relaxing form of massage and involves fast movements and can be quite strenuous and deep including active stretching to stretch and improve the condition of the soft tissue. Fibres are warmed and lengthened and your range of movement is increased.
If you have specific injuries please check out my target sessions or Rossiter stretching workouts, directly targeting your pain which uses a mix of massage, trigger pointing, myofascial release & other techniques. Looking at the cause of your issue and discussing posture and stretching at home/work to get you back to normal.
My personal choice for injuries, chronic or acute pain, sciatica, migraine, pulled muscle, lifting injuries, frozen shoulder etc would be Rossiter stretching workouts, classed as a sports therapy. It is this technique that got me out of pain in my first few years of massage therapy. I became so bad I slept for only 2 hours a night due to pain waking me, couldn't raise my arms to brush my hair or hold a pen as my fingers and hand would cramp and either drop things (so I had to give up hot drinks!) or my hand couldn't release for some minutes. Eventually the pain traveled all over my body and I was in pain walking and driving. This technique is a two person stretch putting space back into the body, its very deep and works on releasing tissue traditional massage stretching can't get to.
